Community Care Live 2010 – ‘CHS to present on reablement.’
February 7, 2010
In conjunction with the University of York Social Policy Research Unit, Mark Lloyd Director of CHS will jointly present at the Community Care Live 2010 Conference taking place in London on the 18th May 2010. This follows on from their successful joint collaboration during 2009 in presenting a webinar for Community Care on the research and practice findings of the new reablement model.
Reablement is about providing a more intensive package of support to people, often discharged from a period in hospital, with the purpose of enabling the individual to gain the highest level of independence during a short term intervention programme. Mark Lloyd has designed and led the introduction of the model in Essex achieving extremely encouraging results in the first year of operation; seeing a substantial drop in the numbers of people subsequently requiring longer term care support.
