Essex Cares Limited becomes reality as ‘ground breaking model’ in social care

On the 1st July Essex Cares Limited became one of the countries first Adult Social Care Local Authority Trading Companies (LATC) with transfer of some 800 staff by Essex County Council into the new business.   The LATC has commenced trading in the delivery of a broad range of social care services.   The Director’s of CHS have led the transfer process on behalf of the Council.  The Guardian has reported on this ground breaking social care model and you can read more on http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2009/may/13/social-care-company-essex-council
